“Blessed is the man that listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway” Proverbs 8:34

Ushers serve the parish by warmly greeting mass participants as they enter the sanctuary. This is perhaps their first, and most important role. They promote a welcoming environment at Visitation Church. While we are all committed to making these words a reality in our parish community, it is the Ushers and Greeters who first greet parishioners with a welcoming smile and warm words.

During our liturgies, Ushers are also responsible for facilitating the collection of offering during the service, recruiting parishioners to bring the gifts to the altar, and ensuring everyone who wishes to have a bulletin receives one upon exiting the mass. Those called to be ushers enjoy interacting with all the people they meet and derive satisfaction from knowing that they help to make everyone feel welcome and part of the “Visitation family”.

This ministry is open to all – women, men, singles, couples, families, youth, young adults, seniors. Anyone wishing to inquire about being involved in this ministry, please contact Dick Van Dusen at 310-216-1145 extension 22 or fill out the contact form below and we will get a hold of you.
