Dick’s family moved into Visitation Parish in May of 1950 when he was 8 years old, planting their roots deeply into Westchester. He graduated from Visitation School and has 4 children who have gone through studies and graduation at Visitation School as well.
There is no greater peace than to be able to be with Christ in the Tabernacle in a quiet church and shutting out the world.
Dick was hired by Monsignor O’Connell in about 2001 to assist the Director of Religious Education at that time, Toni Kerker, among other tasks. Father Brelsford asked him to take the Sacristan position in 2009 which he has found to be a great blessing in his life.
Dick has also been volunteering at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital 2 days a week for the last 14 years. “In my past professional life I dealt with a machine as a computer programmer so assisting people at the Church and hospital is a big and welcome change in life.”
