Welcome to the Church of the Visitation’s website!!! Whether you are an existing parishioner, a prospective parishioner, a neighbor, or visitor to the area, we hope you’ll find a warm welcome at Visitation!

We try our best to make sure that everyone who walks into our parish feels that they have come to a place which embraces them. We hope that you too will feel the warmth of our welcome when you visit us, especially if you have been away from the Church for a while or are putting an exploratory toe in Catholic waters!

Once you’ve had a chance to explore the website and see a little of what we are about, we hope you’ll come to one of our Liturgies, or a Food, Faith and Fellowship evening, or even one of our summer Food Truck Nights to get to know us better and meet members of the parish in person.

In the meantime, be sure to check out some of our recent podcasts of Sunday homilies, explore our ministries and parish events, and browse recent posts from the Pastor and priests about issues of faith. If you would like to formally join the parish, click here to go to our Parish Registration page.

First Time Visitors

First of all, welcome! We hope you’ll find Visitation a great place to worship and serve.

We know it’s not always easy visiting a new church for the first time. Coming to Visitation, many questions may go through your mind, “What should I expect? What kind of music do they use in worship? Am I welcome if I don’t know what I believe? Do I have to give?”

We want your visit to Visitation Church to be a rewarding and comfortable experience, so let us take some of those questions and provide some answers that may help.

Arrival

When you first arrive at Visitation, you will be met by an Usher or Greeter in the main entry way. Please feel free to ask any questions at that time.

Mass/Worship Services

If you are planning to attend Visitation for the first time you are welcome to try any of our five Masses. You can find the times on our Home page. All our Masses are celebrated in English and include contemporary and traditional music. There are a couple of services which cater in a special way to particular segments of our congregation, but remember, all are welcome at any of our services.

  • Our 11 a.m. Sunday Morning Mass is our Family Mass in which young people from our Parish participate in special ways such as the choir, greeting parishioners at the doors, and helping with the Readings of the day.
  • Our 4:30 p.m. Sunday Afternoon Mass is our Teen or Youth Mass in which participants in our Confirmation Program are active attendees in a variety of supporting ministries. The music at this Mass is often the most contemporary.

Giving

An offering is made at all services in support of the church maintenance, programs and services. While it is part of our service, please remember that you are our guests. You need not give anything at this time unless you would like to.

After the Service

After each of the services, the Presider (priest who celebrates the Mass) will always wait outside to greet members of the congregation, including newcomers. Please take a moment to introduce yourselves. In addition, coffee and refreshments are served in the adjacent Parish Center after most Masses. Please stop in and enjoy meeting a few of our parishioners. And don’t forget to take home a Parish Bulletin. This will give you a handy list of upcoming events, phone numbers for the Parish Office as well as an inspirational message from our Pastor!

We’re so glad you are thinking about coming to visit us and we look forward to seeing you this weekend!
